Titled I Be Mediated Body, I Dey Embodied Space, the workshop is conceived as an artistic laboratory that will permit exchange and collaboration of creative ideas between performer, the space and objects. The aim is to explore human contemporary conditions and create dialogue with reference to them using body, space and objects as ontological concepts. It will investigate the different contextual genealogies, realities of human conditions and conceptualize contents of the foregoing in performance art.

Jelili Atiku is a performance and multi-media artist who examines political concerns for human rights and justice. Through drawing, installation, sculpture, photography, video and performance art, Atiku comments on the psychological and emotional effects of traumatic events including violence, war, poverty, corruption and climate change. A graduate of University of Lagos and Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Atiku was the recipient of the prestigious Prince Claus Award in 2015.

This three day workshop is held at Goethe Institute, Lagos City Hall, Catholic Mission Street on Lagos Island. This workshop is limited to ten participants. Participants must register to secure a space in the workshop.
